Our culture and values

Culture and values go hand in hand – and this is very much the case at Harboes Bryggeri

Harboe is a company with a very strong corporate culture emphasising responsibility, collaboration, quality and results. Our corporate culture reflects the underlying values created through close to 125 years as a family-owned, family-run business where the management is actively involved with the employees, their working conditions and the local community that Harboe is very much a part of. This corporate culture has been carried over concurrently with the international expansion of our activities.

Recruiting and retaining managers and employees

It is vital for Harboes Bryggeri to have skilled, dynamic managers capable of reaching our strategic objectives while also ensuring that the organisation is constantly adapting to market developments. This is why Harboe invests considerable resources in attracting and retaining the right managers and employees. In terms of recruitment, Harboe faces a special challenge because the company’s activities are located a long way from the major urban centres. Accordingly, we often have to cast the net across a wide geographical radius to find new managers, so Harboe is actively working to develop its package of employment conditions to help make working at Harboe attractive and help get the family established in the community.

A strong corporate culture

Harboe also emphasises the need to create a positive, motivating setting for its employees. Employee well-being is an important prerequisite for the company’s success, and accordingly Harboe focuses strongly on constantly maintaining and enhancing social and physical conditions alike. Towards the end of 2006, Harboe inaugurated its new administration building at the Group’s head office in Skælskør. The building also houses a large combined staff restaurant for all administrative employees and all brewery employees, which has helped further to consolidate the shared corporate culture for the 200 or so employees working here.
